The bigger issue is the math. The math doesn’t math. The percentages are over inflating the tip.

I tipped $2 which was 10% rounded to the nearest even #. My bill was $17-18. It was all college kids so I don't mind tipping. Putting a little happiness in someone"s day who is nice to me is fine.

I'm never expecting myself to tip more than 20% per se. I figure out what 20% is and that's the baseline of what I shoudl tip. Then, I may round it up a dollar or two or give them a few extra, depending on the situation.
Never have I looked at a bill and figured out what 25% or 30% would be for a tip.

How are you being robbed by the business owner? Most of these places are locally owned aren't making money hand over fist. If you want to go to a salary system be prepared to pay for it. If you want to increase profits stop electing these idiots who find any reason to tax or create a new cost

20% floor with a suggestion of 30% is outrageous, especially considering they’re suggesting you tip on the sales tax too.

Tipping shouldn’t be a %. If prices inflate so a restaurant changes the price of wings from $12 to $20 during Covid (true story), why should my tip go up as well? Most service is pure shite these days anyway so not sure why 15% became 18-20% as the norm.
