I suppose it comes down to the fact that Trump attracts a core of people just like himself in several important ways.

I always say this for the benefit of the stupidest Trumpanzees on here (and there are some very stupid ones here) I will take Trump EVERY. DAY. over Biden, and I hope like hell he manages to win.

But that is such a low bar. Being better than Biden.

And it doesn't change the fact that personally, Trump is everything his ardent haters say he is. Classless, amoral, narcissistic, stupidly alpha, paranoid, full of delusions of grandeur, a slave to his ego...he's not stupid, but he often does very stupid things BECAUSE he is such a slave to his ego and so blindly and stupidly alpha and so paranoid.

And his core followers—the ones who wouldn't vote for anyone else but him—are just like he is.

And I guess it just comes down to like attracting like. I guess I've been overthinking it.

But yeah, he can't believe he could lose unless someone cheated, despite all of the people whom he has royally pissed off for around 8 years now and all the people in the country who wouldn't piss down his throat if his guts were on fire they hate him so much, he just can't believe that he wouldn't win in a landslide.

They can't either. It's frankly bizarre, like some kind of mass hypnosis or delusion.

Clearly.

It worked for Biden in 2020 and you are correct that it is Trump's best chance in 2024. It's the only chance he has to make the election a referendum on Biden instead of himself.

But that's exactly one of those things that he lacks the self-control to pull off...UNLESS. Unless the court cases actually end up working for him by distracting him and keeping him from campaigning.

Then again, I think even one felony conviction and he loses the election. So that's a double edged sword.
