I'm a doctor. Treat family all the time. Zero rules against it

This all started because we working on a doctor's home this morning and he said he had to step out to take his wife to a doctors appointment... we joked an said couldn't he save some money treating her himself.. he told us it's not allowed... he could have been joking... I don't think he was... I was just curious

I take care of family all the time.

My only thing is that I don't call in meds for my daughter. I let her pediatrician make those decisions.

Maybe he's a proctologist and she was going to a cardiologist? They aren't all the same

ETA: also wanted to add to the piling on, doctors can absolutely treat their family members.
