You act like he is powerless.

He faces a Senate controlled by the DEMs and a DEM President.

He has little power to do anything against that.

All he can do is force a shutdown, which he and the GOP will be blamed for and it will hurt the efforts even further.

He has more power than that.

Then why isn't he talking about it? He's not under a gag order. Why can't he say "I'm against this, but this is what we have to do"

BUT he is happily going along with it, even promoting it as his preference.

That is not the same as what you are claiming is the situation.

Let an entitlement program be threatened to shut down because they can't agree on a spending bill and see how fast the Democrats play ball. Let the MIC think their budget is going to be cut and see how fast the RINO's come to the table. There are positions he can take to wield the power he does have, but he won't do it at the behest of being called a "meanie" by Democrats. Make the Democrats explain why they can't get funding for their districts needs.

And neither the Senate nor the President have two nickels to rub together unless spending bills make it through the House. He controls what bills get voted on in the house. His Achilles heel is that 75% of his fellow republicans and 90% of the party bureaucracy are capitulating shitbags.

The Speaker debacle is a symptom of the republican party being out of touch with their voters, and why republicans will probably never be in control again. Too many of them look at all the success of the marxist democrats and figure the path of least resistance is to adopt marxist/socialist policy, while selling conservatism to their ignorant voters.
