It’s not about adding a player with a high PPG to the team. You need scorers at every position to beat S. Carolina and other top teams these days. There are too many variables in a basketball game such foul trouble, injuries, and poor shooting performances/an off night etc. What makes S Carolina so dangerous is that any one of their rotational players can hurt you scoring on any given day. In order to compete for championships you have to match that. You should have learned that from this season. HVL couldn’t break anybody down off the dribble, and she did not deliver when we needed her to step up with points in big moments like when Angel was in foul trouble etc. This kid can distribute and score baskets at all 3 levels, which will open up opportunities for her talented teammates. The days of the big 3 are long over bro.

You can win & build a roster in many different ways as long as they compliment one another.

LSU doesn’t need a 4th player to score 20ppg like Olsen.

They need complimentary pieces, someone that doesn’t want to shoot the ball every time down. She would need to tone her game down big time

Not true. Raven Johnson started for South Carolina and averaged 8 ppg but was the best perimeter defender they had

She held Clark in check when they were matched against one another

You know why lsu lost to Iowa. Our starting pg couldn’t cover a bed with a blanket

If lsu had a raven Johnson instead of HVL they beat Iowa

Can she though? Career averages are 3.7 AST and 1.8 TO per game. 2024 was 3.8 AST and 2.5 TO.

For comparison HVL averaged 3.6 AST and 2.6 TO per game last year.

So if fans weren't happy with the PG production from HVL, why would Olsen be any different?
