They'll fly back up during the day if spooked

I've seen them on good weather days stay up until 9-10am for no apparent reason. On bad weather days much longer. I've seen one that I know saw me stay up there an extra hour before he flew to another tree 100yds away. I've also watched one fly down at daylight then fly back up when bad weather came through mid-morning. Don't try to figure out what they are thinking, they're all crazy sometimes.

I am heading out right now to see if any want to play after this storm. Power is still out, no sense being at the house

CSB: One morning in late October I was going bowhunting about an hour before daylight. Just easing down an old farm road in my pickup (this was maybe 25 years ago). And I could see something weird in the headlights of the truck. Got out and walked up to it. And it was a gobbler sound asleep in the road, with its head under a wing. The sound of the truck and me walking up didn't even wake him. I had to kick him to wake him up to get him out of the way.
