Ascension, West Baton Rouge, and Pointe Coupee closed tomorrow.
Pointe Coupee makes more sense since they are farther north and will likely get nailed. Ascension seems to be a little trigger happy IMO.
EBR and West Feliciana will almost certainly be closed for a rare moderate/high risk like this. They close down for enhanced risks. Just haven’t announced it yet.

Not even arguing with school closures except for the ones south of I-10. Some of you will be understandably frustrated.
But I don’t like these stated risks in the south/central US in April/May. This looks like it will get ugly.

I am honestly fine with the closure but I do think they should let parents know ASAP so they can make arrangements instead dragging their feet

Parents should probably go ahead and make plans based on school closures in surrounding areas. It’s not a big deal to send them anyway if it’s not canceled tomorrow.

I'm sure they were hoping that the 12:30 Central predictions would improve. They didn't.
Looks like tomorrow will get pretty bad, especially for the area between Baton Rouge and Jackson (MS).

at this point if there is a thunderstorm in the forecast, it's almost standard practice to plan on school being closed. fricking asinine.
