It’s ironic many players whose family was subsidized by the federal govt are against the anthem

Logistically speaking, what about the football team who is never on the field for the anthem? Are they exempt? Have to change their pre-game routine?

This is a chicken shat excuse. The "routine" is set up so you dont have to be on the field and address some ahole who decides to kneel. They should be on the field, have some trainers bring some bags and when one of them kneels tell him to put the uni in the bag and hit the road.

I think the football teams (plural- as in all of them) have been in the locker rooms during the anthem for at least 4 decades. It has nothing to do with protests, it's game preparation. You warm up, then hit the lockers for final prep. Then you come back out when they announce you.

As someone pointed out, both Army and Navy are in the lockers for the anthem. Do you think those institutions are being run by protesters? Do you think those kids are?
It's structure and routine.

All you folks talking shite, you're being played by an anti-Mulkey group who's been throwing mud at her. Earlier, she was too MAGA , now she's anti-flag. Congrats, you've been conned.

And our governor not only was conned, he's managed to make it a national issue, threatening to pull scholarships. It makes our state look like gullible fools.

say goodbye to your championships

Dear Lord, what a maroon

Have you even looked at your country lately? LSU won 3 championships in the last few years and we still suck as a state and a nation. Championships are simply fleeting entertainment. Life is a bit more intense. For much longer periods of time

Bullshite, and while Im at it, do baseball teams do it???? Olympic teams???? Little league?????

Who does stand for the anthem, maybe thats a better question.

Then again they got their arses whipped maybe other forces decided if they should have come out and stood for their own anthem

We know who this is meant for, so we will boycott ALL State Colleges and Universities of Louisiana. This will be worse than the Alabama bus boycotts of the past. You are attacking our children, and we are PO'ed.

Since you want to go there, can you ask your children to stop killing our children? Thanks.

It’s possible to have the teams on the field during the national anthem. Stop acting like it’s such a logistical impossibility. The NFL and every high school football team in America manages to be on the field during the National Anthem. It can be done easily by adjusting the pre-game schedule.

women's soccer deserves a mention especially since it's a sport that operates in the red.

Not true. How many LSU games have you been to in your life? My experience dates back to the early 1980’s until present. And from first time I’m able to remember my first game in TS, the band always played the alma mater and National anthem on the field before the two (visiting and home) ran out of their respective locker rooms.

Kneeling for the anthem wasn’t even thought of back then.

What you are saying is factually inaccurate.

You won't find a more conservative person alive than me and, personally, I think the anthem avoiders are pathetic losers.

However. In no universe would I support the state punishing citizens for not standing for the national anthem. If some private university wants to set this policy, go ahead. But a state school? That's dumb.
