Asking for everyone's opinion.

Do you think Jay relies too much on the lefty/righty match-ups for hitting and pitching? Or do you think this is similar to most other coaches? Just wondering. In particular, I'm thinking about Loer since he is struggling so much. The guy was really good for Xavier last year and he can't seem to get anyone out. And yes, I know the level of competition is different.

He seems to rely on it as much as mainieri. Everyone hated when paul did that too. I think he relies a bit too much on it, i prefer feel. But im not making a million dollars a year and dont have any college coaching wins. So maybe they know more than me

There’s been arguments all over the map. He’s brought in righties to face lefties that haven’t worked and he’s brought in lefties to face lefties that haven’t worked. Last year his decisions worked when they needed to and this year they haven’t so far. But we still have a game tomorrow to win the series.

Brad Pitt didn’t care about lefty righty
I have always thought going lefty lefty had a better chance of being successful than righty righty just because everyone sees 10x the amount of right handed pitchers
That being said, if you don’t care about it with your starter, I don’t think you should manage the rest of the game only playing matchups

In general, I’m not as big a fan of shifting, pitching matchups, etc in the college game. It’s more wild and unpredictable.
But I also don’t see the numbers they have.

When you have 1 legit P you have to go with matchups.
