I've heard opinions in football OPs that this is going to be a long season because the offense will move backwards without 3 1st round picks including a generational player, defense will be a headache again, and the brutal schedule. The opinion I've heard most is DL is going to be the weakness of the team.

I mean this is probably true.

You know, the offense could take a step back and it still be a very good season.

The offensive line is intact and veteran. We have good receivers. We have an excellent QB. We need some depth at RB.

If Baker does for this defense what he did for Mizzou's, we could easily do better than we did last year.

Running a run-first offense around Josh Williams and a shaky D is not likely to be a winning formula, I don't care how amazing our OL is.

1) I don't think we will be run first when we have a gunslinger at QB and a QB coach and WR coach designing the offense. I do think we will be more creative in the run than we were the past 2 years but I doubt its gonna be 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

2) If we were run first it would be based around Kaleb Jackson, not Josh Williams.

3) A run first offense is ALWAYS helpful to a defense and would definitely be helpful for a less than stellar defense. It shortens the games by running clock and minimizes the amount of time a defense has to be on the field.

Inexperienced and turnover prone. Also our WR room has limited proven players.

Why? The coaches love Josh Williams and he'll likely do everything better than Kaleb Jackson other than running.

I was extremely upset when Josh Williams announced he was coming back.

Our D's issues will be talent, not endurance.

Imagine our record if we ran a slow, plodding, run first offense to help the D last year. Maybe 6 wins?

old reputation. go watch the bowl game and the spring game. watch how quickly he gets rid of the ball. dude is maturing and improving, and you want to hang on to old reputations.

how many teams in the country return WRs that have seen the snaps of Lacy, Daniels, Thomas, Hilton, and Anderson, etc? That room is fine.

they should. dude does everything well, just not the most talented kid in the world.

good thing they play "running" back.

over the top dumb. I was ecstatic when he returned. #1 you need guys like this in the locker room, and #2 if he can help K Jackson become an improved pass blocker, then Jackson is going to be off the charts good this year.

we can somewhat agree.....finally. however, the majority of the problem was that the team did not like House, or the way he coached. this was very apparent on the field after the bowl game.

bottom line is that you have topped even yourself with this last post.

Is this dude really going to stay at Tulane and not increase his draft stock? So frustrating

Even if he does transfer to lsu there is no guarantee his stock will go any higher that it currently is. He could come to lsu and disappear on the stat sheet and on the film screen. (See Omar speights)

I’m sure Baker got really intricate with his schemes in a scrimmage after one spring of teaching his defense. Use your head man

It's hardly an accurate indicator of anything to fans. Depth chart isn't even representative of reality in a lot of cases. It's for coaches to work on specific things. Think back at all of the Spring game heroes and misleading performances from defensive or offensive units.

I can see that I mean Tulane probably upped the bag and he probably likes it at the school.
