Single women are "special" -- just like POC, Special Needs, Trans, LGQT++zzzz and Martians. They ALL qualify for priority Job / Privilege Status.

Young white Christian males are the victims of scapegoating, a real Vendetta enforced by certain Un-Named, Can't-Be-Criticized PTB. Ergo they are now LAST in line (IF it even exists for them) and targeted for society's shaft, heave-ho, boot up the ying-yang after 5,000 of "privilege".

I honest to God do not trust a single thing the news puts out about the percent of home ownership being PE. The lying press has been running cover for corporate America for decades from everything from pay, to employment to offshoring of jobs. Why wouldn’t they continue lying to cover up how bad actual home ownership rates are? Hell they lied their asses off about inflation and the economy these last few years, whats a few more lies about home ownership?

The number was thrown out from a Medium article, which anyone can go publish on. The article contradicts itself immediately and links its source, which also contradicts the entire medium article.

So yes its fake news.

Just think of that number. 44% of home buys are from private equity firms? Thats ridiculous

Then why do the statistics not show that for young men?

Because they are weak like you? You accept they should bow out.

quote:

This is a ridiculous point.

How? Living at home being depressed usually turns to suicide. You just you’re okay with men rejecting society and giving up. Therefore, you’re okay with more suicide? You shouldn’t be and no one should be okay with men rejecting society. The world doesn’t hate you. Stop crying and travel to a third world country where life is actually hard. Pathetic.

quote:

I didn't say the world was bad I said I can get where they are coming from. You not realizing the changing landscape of the country and what the youth are dealing with are why you either already are or will be a terrible parent who never connects with their kids.

So the world isn’t bad but you support men rejecting society and being worthless. Got it. Again, you should travel more. These men giving up in America are pathetic. You’re pathetic as well for defending this behavior. Yeah I’d be a terrible parent for not telling my kids they shouldn’t be worthless.

Again, this isn’t your fault since you keep talking about young you are. Gen Z right? It’s your parents fault for creating such a soft individual that accepts defeat and says other should continue to be worthless to society.

Probably the most common inaccurate statistic used in political debates. If you account for type of job and hours worked, there's only a 2% hourly difference.

Looks like women lose again when it comes to money

They’re getting suckered into paying for exorbitant housing prices while the men stay at home and avoid paying the unreasonable prices. Men win again

definitely not going to accuse you of being a socialist, lol. your post was good, and i appreciate your perspective. didnt mean to come across like i was calling you out either. i do think my point still stands though that boomers and older millenials have been buying property to rent out forever though, so i dont see how it's suddenly part of the crisis. maybe i'm just not dialed in on the topic that well.

No worries I didn’t take any sort of offense. I guess my point is that the issue of these independent investors buying up homes coupled with the flood of subsidized immigrants and private equity buying homes has led us to this point. But I really do believe that immigration and big business has had a much more negative affect on overall housing inventory than independently wealthy people. We haven’t even talked about debt amongst people my age which is another big factor. I lived at home for 3 years out of school paying off my loans, it wasn’t fun but I’m glad I did it. So I do empathize with other men my age struggling to get their slice of the ever dwindling American dream. I’m in a much better financial situation than most of my friends in the area so I see a lot of this stuff firsthand.

I agree that there is a crisis among young American men but don’t agree that it will create downward pressure on housing prices. It couldn’t unless we saw a huge uptick in the pace of new supply, which is very unlikely to happen with the zoning regs in place in most municipalities.

Not at all. I moved out of the house at 18. I paid rent until I was 30, I bought my first house.

My brother lived with my parents til 27. He is a petroleum engineer. He bought a much more expensive house than I did when he was 28 and had a bigger savings account. Even though he was making slightly more money than I did at the time, he had much more than a slightly bigger savings account.

We’re both “successful” in that we own homes and save a lot every month, but no one would look at me and him and call me the successful one because he lived at home til he was 27.

The US is the only country in the entire world that shames young men....and young men only for living at home after 18. As long as you're not a dead-beat and have something going on (not a NEET) then I don't see the issue. People need to whatever they can to save money.

This.

I had a huge helping of this growing up despite living in a very rural area. I grew up essentially on a farm. Neighbors were aunts and uncles, and I had some cousins around my age that lived on the other side of a bayou that I could access via a footbridge.

If my dad was home during the day (he frequently took off work on Fridays in the summer), he would kick my brothers and I out of the house so we wouldn’t watch tv and play video games all day. My brothers were a lot older and bigger than I was, so they often didn’t have any interest in playing with me or they were gone doing sports leagues, camps, or other activities.

I liked to wander around. One time I went into the woods to look at spider webs and see bugs. I got punished.

I crossed the gate to play with the cows and horses. I got punished.

I tried to walk down the busy road our house was on to see my uncle and maybe go fishing. I got punished.

I crossed the bridge to play baseball with my cousins. I got punished.

I rode my bike to the park. I got punished.

Hitchhiked into town to meet up with my parents who were at a local festival. I got punished.

F$&k, what else was I supposed to do!?

I liked staying at my grandma’s house in the city during the summer because from there, I could at least ride my bike to a comic book store or movie theater (not that I had any money). My parents literally wouldn’t allow me to do anything by myself.

Because I hate the notion that men in this world should just give up and that others “agree or understand”. The world isn’t against us. It’s become so casual to hear. Things have always been hard. We’re just more okay with people giving up now. It’s very sad to see.

Out of the "buy a home, start a family" recipe?

Why shouldn't they? Most people can't afford a home. I laid out exactly why having kids is a raw deal for a young man.

I own a home, am married, and have kids and guarantee I make more money than you do because people who make great money aren't as unstable and dumb as you clearly are

Now I get it. You live in some third world shithole for work and are upset about it. Would explain a lot.

I support young men who forge their own path and make something of themselves despite the challenges this generation of young men have.

I mean, all of those groups do get special treatment. They all have their own scholarships dedicated solely to them. Government organizations and major corporations bend over backwards to hire one of them. They have special recruiting events and everything.

Can you name a scholarship or recruiting event that had ever outright billed itself as catering specifically to white men?

Yet somehow we're still kicking everyone's arse in business, technology and the trades. It's weird right?
