I live in a gated community with security etc. About 20!years ago in Nov/Dec every year our neighborhood would get it. It was gypsys which to think about is crazy but that is who it was they would go up and down the east coast of Florida and Georgia hitting places. They were not dangerous but… who wants someone in their house while they are asleep.

Kim Komando had a podcast on that very thing last week. Her gated neighborhood in the Phoenix area was targeted, and she was the only one with a wired phone and cameras on the house.
Most of the other house's Wi-Fi burglar alarms and cameras were disabled. Good thing the cops had wind of if.
