Not sure how he is a downgrade from Wright. Better numbers across the board while playing in a better conference. Turnovers are a bit high but he did a good bit of facilitating so that’s somewhat expected. Hard to see how he is anything except an upgrade

I guess it's debatable. Carter played about 4 min more per game than Wright. When you normalize things by Per 40 min you get this:

Wright - 19 PTS, 6.5 RB, 3.2 AST, 2.8 TO
Carter - 16.4 PTS, 5.6 RB, 2.9 AST, 3.3 TO

I guess some might see that as better numbers across the board

Man I hope some of you can get refills on your meds. To bring anything negative about bringing in a starter from a Big 12 team averaging double digits shows just how pathetic this "fan" base is. And I didn't see anyone acting like we signed some super star. I guess the stupidity will continue. Wright was a great addition to this team. So if this guy is at or better than him it's a good get.

I was comparing Carter’s stats to Wright’s at Vandy to compare them both as transfers. Also adjusting stats for 40 mins is not some mic drop. It has some use but it makes a lot of assumptions and ignores a lot of variables. It’s better to look at what they actually did compared to what might have been projections.

I don't think anyone here expected Jordan Wright to assume the role and become the player that he did. Sure he had his good moments, but I don't like using per40 stats for Wright because it ignores a lot of really, really bad games that he had. Per40 will largely ignore these inefficiencies and inflate his stats via sheer volume.

BPM wise Carter was much higher defensively than Wright. His DBPM is .5 higher than anyone on LSU last year. He will come in and be the best defender on the team from day 1.

Additionally, Carter assumed a larger role at KSU than Jordan had at Vandy. Jordan was an off ball 3&D player at Vandy, Carter was a ball dominant guard. It's just bad to make that comparison. I don't think anyone wants Carter to become Jordan Wright 2.0, but he at least has had experience in that sort of role... (if McMahon unfortunately gives it to him).

I think if you surround him with spacing (something KSU didn't have) and take the ball out of his hands more often, his efficiency will go up. We already know his value on the other end of the court.
