Anyone picked up the new Smith and Wesson Ultimate carry J frames?

Looking to see some real world reviews. Thinking about the 432 32 mag version. The pic is the 442 but it’s essentially the same gun except the 432 is a 6 shot.

not exactly the same, but I have the S&W airweight model 642. hammerless. 5 shot. shoots .38 + Ps.
I've had no issues.
long trigger pull and kicks pretty good as expected from a snub nosed revolver of that caliber that's light weight.
purchased for the wife as a uncomplicated, pull trigger and shoot, close quarters, "gut gun"

These new UC guns have reworked trigger geometry for better pull, beveled cylinder and front tritium night sights with big dot. Also U notch black rear sight and VZ grips.
Pretty nice package. MSRP is $859. Once the craze simmers down should be able to find for $750. Also none have the Hillary hole.

Nice gun but goodness at that price.

Yeah some folks will balk but Smith can’t make them fast enough. They are going to do some similar guns with Lipseys next year in K frames. The grips and sights alone are close to $200 add on plus the bevel work. I guess it’s just what’s important to the buyer.

The .32 makes zero sense, the performance of the round is notably inferior, and if a sixth round is absolutely essential to you, you can get a six round .38 special Kimber K6XS which is a fraction of an ounce lighter than the S&W, has a much better trigger AND it's $80 less expensive.
.32 magnum Critical Defense - 80 grain bullet
.38 Critical Defense - 110 grain bullet
Despite the extra round and the magnum's higher muzzle velocity, I know which one I'm picking.

The .32 magnum 100 gr +p is actually very similar to 38 special +p. Buffalo bore .32 + p 100 gr has 377 ft lbs of energy and 38 special +p has about 400. In gel test the .32 has equal penetration of the 38 special +p.
Here is a YouTube video showing the comparison.

Guns are like Doritos.

Still prefer a hammer. But I’m old school. Nice gun though.

Oh damn. I would never have though a .32 could get that close.

The kick of the 38 snub nose is why I am looking for a smaller caliber. My wife would not be able to get a second shot off. How does the .32 caliber compare to a 9mm snub nose? I got her a 9mm S&W M&P Shield, but she does not like it. At home she has a full size 38 S&W revolver.

The .32 mag felt recoil is less than a 38 special. It would be similar to a 9mm.
Hornady makes a 38 special lite 90 grn in their critical defense line. It’s a good round for what you are seeking. It’s a very good defense round. I shoot in my older aluminum frame j frame guns. It’s a non +p round.

Are you using light rounds for practicing? It’s much better with women and children to practice with wad cutters and reduced recoil type rounds. I would never have them practice with +p type of ammo unless they were really experienced and confident.

Yeah the 32 mag has plenty power but the problem is ammo cost and selection. It’s why I opted for. 357 Ruger LCR in which I use 38.

Seriously, my Ruger LCR 357 was like $550 and I can’t imagine this S&W being that much better.

The LCR is a fine gun my wife carries one. These guns are a little more refined. Capitalism is great. You get to buy what you want.

How much more can the revolver be improved?

Better grips

A 3" version of that 442 would be great.
