Concerts are not going to this new LSU arena over New Orleans, now that New Orleans has an arena.

Bigger touring acts play Houston and New Orleans, they can also play midweek stops at a suitable location between Houston and New Orleans.

In the 60s Lafayette (Blackham Coliseum) and Baton Rouge (Independence Hall) split those concerts

In the 1970s, Baton Rouge took the lead in securing bigger shows with the new Assembly Center facility

In the 1980s and then the 1990s Lafayette opened the Cajun Dome and took the lead for the bigger shows

Now it seems like big most rock acts skip Lafayette and Baton Rouge completely so the concerts Lafayette hosts are primarily Country acts. Baton Rouge doesnt seem to host many concerts at all any more. Except for the acts playing the theatre at L'Auberge Casino
