Texas is so southern that my ancestors were basically all ex confederates who were so disappointed in the result of war of northern aggression they left everything they knew behind to come to Texas.

Sorry your ancestors had to move to texas just to find a job

I’m not disagreeing with you but Katrina was almost 20 years ago. A lot of places have transformed themselves since 2005.

we went to the Gulfport aquarium a few months ago, and then drove back to the interstate on the beachfront road through Biloxi. It seemed very nice. Love all of the big, classic houses.

Parts of Texas are the south and parts aren't. Terlingua, while in a very interesting part of Texas, is not the South.

who do you think was picking it?

Fort Payne, AL??? It’s terrible up here! This whole NE AL area is awful. No need to come check it out. Just trust me.

Seriously, NE AL is very, very underrated. DeKalb and Jackson counties are truly hidden gems.

Mammoth Cave is huge and definitely worth a stop if you find yourself out that way. I don't know of if it's underrated or not, but ita definitely worth visiting

I would imagine some of the rebirth is due to Katrina wiping the slate, but I can only imagine how nice that area would be today if it weren't for the storm. I'm still triggered by the loss of all the oaks along Hwy 90.

Stayed here when visiting Big Bend national park

Population of 110

Stayed in a campsite that was completely see through

It is denoted by astrologers as one of the darkest places in the world during the night

Saw some of the coolest constellations, comets, planets, stars etc I've ever seen while staying there it was very cool
