If Kling isn't in your OF, who is?

Bingham can't play CF. We don't need 2012 again where every ball not hit directly to our CF is a base hit.

Kling was one of our better hitters as a freshman in the OOC last season and then fell off a cliff in SEC play.

Milam has been a pleasant surprise so far and he puts the ball in play, but if he is going to be just a single or out hitter, he has to hit more singles than get out than he did this past weekend.

At least he is drawing walks to go along with those K, the same can't be said for Brady Neal who is an OF option for some reason.

Pearson, Bingham, Brown, Neal maybe Frey. Get a combination of those and go with who is hot

Neal has more pop in his bat hes a better hitter than Kling

Braswell is weak.

You should try watching the games. He made 1 weak throw. I'm also enjoying that he throws the ball in the air all the way to 1B. That's a change from the last few years.

bro what are you Klings dad? Hes not that good. Hes on the bench where he belongs. Hes a pinch runner/defensive specialist late in games.

That's fine if Neal is catching, but when it comes to figuring out the OF, Kling is the better option.

Both have shown so far to be heavy K guys, but Kling at least gets on base more than Neal and gives you gold glove defense at the most important defensive position besides catcher.

If it comes down to Kling vs Neal in the OF, you're weakening your defense for high K-rate guy with pop because it also moves Bingham to CF. If Kling is in CF, you're strengthening your defense for a high K-rate guy with better OBP.

Neither is Neal so far, if we're honest, at least not good enough to stick in RF.

He should be the catcher against RHP's and a pinch hitter if the opponent brings in a RHP out of the pen.

CJJ has spoken highly of Kling's ability. Why it hasn't come together for him at the plate IDK.

Baseball has its own ebb-n-flow and is best viewed through a season-wide lens. Almost every one has a lull at some point, e.g., Crews beginning vs Auburn in G2 last year.

I think the biggest mistake Jay ever made was saying Kling could be the next Dylan Crews. Kling could be hitting the ball great this year and still would not be Crews. Fans are naturally going to be harder on a player who gets that kind of comparison when he doesn't produce.

The perfect example of this going the opposite way is Milam. Most casual fans probably had no idea this guy was on the team until he started the second game of the season, so there was no expectation for him. Don't get me wrong, he's been a solid contact hitter so far with a really smooth glove at 2B, but since coming onto the scene, we've had multiple threads propping him up as the best player on the team because he outperformed expectations. Not sure that is truly the case for a guy who exclusively hits singles.

I think it’s less important who he decodes on than that he settles players into their roles.

Milam has a .379 BABIP and it is already starting to correct itself. Braswell conversely is at .312, yet one is hitting .271 & one is hitting .328

These guys are a lot closer than what people think.

All that said, Milam and Braswell are a really good double play combo. Not sure why people are comparing them to each other. Braswell is not leaving the lineup as he is currently playing. One of the better players on offense & defense.

I dont think neal is leaving the lineup either.
His OPS and wRC and wOBA are all top 4 on the team.

And as unpopular as it is, i think the best chance for this team to make a deep run is with kling in the lineup and hitting. So, i dont he’ll ever be given up on. And he shouldnt be. He is basically like last seasons thatcher. We just need him to figure it out or die trying

As far as LSU fans are concerned, only Alex Milazzo is allowed to be in the lineup as a defense-only player. So yea, good luck with that.

Not right now. He will have a long rope, but could K his way out of the lineup like Jones did last year. But he is one of the few, consistent power threats. He has 3HRs and could probably easily have 5 if the wind were different at the time.
