Exactly!

Of course they didn't...no elbows, no hair pulling, no shoves before the squirmish, no smack talking, no nothing the entire game, 100% all SC.
Did I get the narrative right?

She used it as a motivational opportunity for her team. Tourney is about to start. Too late to be nice.

Kim, like Saban, does her own thing. Its worked brilliantly for both. When society changes and she can't accept it, she will, like Saban, retire.
She doesn't need Basketball nor LSU. She has earned her spot in the Hall of Fame.

My comment was referring to the incident at the end of game. Both teams play rough but nobody plays dirtier than SC, they try to intimidate their opponents.

I think she means well, but she has a history of not reading the room. The correct thing to do on Sunday would simply have been to keep her mouth shut. Perhaps acknowledge that it's unfortunate what happened, but we're moving on. She was probably unaware that Staley had already "apologized" on national TV, but someone around her should have told her. Her comment was 100% true, but she didn't have to make it and play into her enemies' hands. I think she just probably talks too much in general.
If she just leaves one statement out or modifies it slightly, she doesn't draw as much fire. She meant Cardosa should pick on someone her own size. She said it by using an example and saying "I wish she had done that to Angel". People ran with that in a way she didn't intend.
But the thing that makes her Kim Mulkey is that she speaks her mind and doesn't sugarcoat much. She could have given some ridiculous platitude as Staley and Cardosa did, never once apologizing to the person shoved to the ground by someone 10 inches taller than them.
So yes, she does come across that way on the surface at times, but anyone with any insight can see that she is not and that the media has an agenda they want to sell.

Just just real and not fake in front of a camera.
Successful people are great to be around cause they dont have anything to prove to anyone.

Maybe you prefer Les Miles talk. You "agree 100% with her comment" but come on here and talk shite... I'd rather have a coach speak the truth.
ETA: To the uninformed, it's laughable to think she doesn't read the room. Believe me, she's very calculated with her comments - just like Saban.

Dont let your love for LSU blind you to the fact that she consistently does a little too much.
I have no issue with what she said, I agree I think its weak to take your issues out on a smaller player that wasn't the one that agitated you in the first place.
It just not the place to do it by an already scrutinized coach, under all the lights, after an SEC champ game that should have been another big step forward for womens sports.
It gives the media and lsu haters more and more ammo.
It comes off more as if we were still fighting to get to the top-----not like we have been there before.
LSU vs the world is only a cool narrative until it starts affecting recruits and their parents ideas of where they will go to be developed for their professional career

Careful, you sound a lot like Kim did in the post game press conference. Maybe you are being oblivious.

Mulkey is a grown arse woman and a 4 time national champion. She can say what she wants in the realm of basketball.

She has a roster full of potential pro players. Parents saw a coach stick up for her players who are being called thugs and worse by the media and other people. I think she’s doing fine.
Posted on 3/12/24 at 11:28 am to theLSUdon17
She's interviewed after every game. This was a day after she lost another player to injury and now probably the biggest girl in the sport took an opportunity to assault one of hers. Of course she is going to give her honest thoughts. She is going to defend her players and that's what is important here. It's ridiculous how soft our society has become. I maintain if a male coach of a male sport said the same thing they would be celebrated.
You don't think that's the mentality she wants for this team? Can't be complacent.
Winning wins recruits. Period. Especially Championships.
