you think it’s going to get better facing SEC pitching? LSU hasn’t played anyone with above average pitching.

Our hitting isn't bad, it's bad today but stat wise we are doing fine. As I mentioned earlier top 4 in the SEC in BA, top 30 in the country.

This thread is a overreaction to one bad game in baseball.

We've lost 1 game all season, not many teams in the country can claim that.

They’re in the top half of the SEC in almost all offensive stats.

2024 SEC baseball team statistics

Still, hard to believe we only could average 4 runs/game against Xavier and Southeastern this week headed into SEC play.

Xavier's 8th-inning pitcher looked like he was throwing in an overhand softball league and got Jones to swing at three pitches a foot off the plate. Coach Johnson will not be happy.

I don’t know why they even compare conference stats when conference play hasn’t even started.

I'm getting that way. It's not so much they are not hitting, because they are. It's that the boys are swinging at mediocre pitchers junk pitches. They have not been seeing the ball great and breaking balls are eating them up.

I hope pitch recognition gets much better. Which it will as the season goes on. But now we start facing SEC pitching. We need to pick it up at the plate.

It’s the reverse of football season

Best offense no defense

Baseball best pitching no offense

Felt like a CPM game. JJ will get these boys rolling though.

I agree with you. It definitely changes their game. They seem to press hard to hit when they can't swing for the fences.

We have great hitters though, the winds will shift and they will get it going. Today sucked, next game is a chance to get better.

Let’s pump the brakes on comparing this teams offense to the football teams historically bad defense

It was a bad week for the bats

In a coma for 8 innings in Hammond

Hitless over the last six innings on Friday and probably only plate one run were it not for some shaky defense by Xavier.

Today is one of the worst pre-conference rent-a-win performances I can remember. To give up two runs on a Sunday to Xavier and lose is unfathomable.

The excuses from so called fans on this website every game they can’t hit is exhausting.

Overall stats looks decent but we have also had a couple ridiculous offensive games that have skewed the stats. I don’t think we have hit our stride yet. Hoping they get it going soon

It is inconsistent at best, no other way to say it. Will be interesting in SEC play.

These stupid fricks did the same thing last year after every loss.

They don't know what the frick they're talking about. The smart thing to do is laugh at them & ignore them. It's just what they do, & they'll keep doing it.

Bro, 2 of our games was against Virginia Military Institute. Why are you using season stats before SEC play to make your point?
