Here are the givens:

Holman: Friday night starter
Jones: First base
Milam: Second base
White: Third base
Braswell: Short stop
Kling: Centerfield

I assume everyone agrees with the above position starters. So that leaves right field, left field, catcher and DH.

I got Bingham in left, Pearce in right, Neal at catcher and Travinski at DH to round out our SEC opener line-up.

The position I have the least confidence in is right field. I could see Jake Brown over Pearson. Frey’s apparent unfortunate injury tonight might change the right field calculus. As of now Kling is the only sure of outfield starter. I think Bingham starts in lf. That leaves Brown and Pearce competing for rf. am going with Pearce due to his SEC play experience.

The only other obvious man out is Milazzo. He has played great so far. Nevertheless less, once SEC play starts, on opening night I see Milazzo as a maybe later game defensive replacement.

So I got Holman, Jones. Kling, White, Milam, White, Braswell, Neal (catcher), Travinski (dh), and Pearson as the SEC starters (not in that batting ordered though).

Who you got? This is not a who you like question but rather who you think Jay will start. I think right field is the most flexible. Brown feels like he has more upside, but I think Jay gives with Pearson because he has seen SEC and even College World Series pitching. Its great to have options, I would not argue starting Brown over Pearson.

The corner OF will be matchup based, so it will be interesting how we play it if MSU moves Cjintje to Friday.

Catcher will be Neal, DH will be Travinski. With Al coming in as defensive replacement and to give Neal Breaks. Bingham probably going to be in Lf.

Frey would be in my staring lineup over Bingham, Pearson and Larson if he’s healthy. His ceiling is the highest, imo

It’s a step down in competition. So I say let’s try Hellmers at 3B again.

100% agree, I think Pearson gets the nod due to experience
