I'm going to need to see some numbers to back this up
Of course I can't give you exact numbers but I'll tell you the majority of hospitals in Minnesota (a huge healthcare market) were net negative last year.
It's similar across the country.
I see alot of hospitals financial statements, and like I said, most patients are net losers.

I worked in consulting. In our proposals, they would list all the senior people and key industry analysts that worked at our company. Most of these people did absolutely zero work on the project or don’t even know the project existed. 95% of the work was done by workers in India with some junior level US consultants doing the more complex stuff.

How is there money for never ending new building projects?
I pass a massive hospital complex every day in charlotte (Atrium Health) and it’s been under construction for 10 years non stop.
Next up is a $900 million 448 bed facility adjacent to the existing campus as well as a $1.5 billion investment in a new medical campus and medical school partnering with Wake Forest University. They’ve also land banked tons of adjacent property to develop as they need.
There is no end to the capital they can deploy. Yes this is one anecdotal example

Somebody a long time ago told me Taco Bell meat is "Grade E - but edible"
I don't know if it is still like this, but someone I know who was working for a law service that cut the grass for several taco bells in baton rouge told be he would see the cans the meat came in, in the garbage and it absolutely said "Grade E- BUT EDIBLE" on the cans.
That's pretty much dog food.

In college, I worked a couple of years as a waitress. One place was a really nice restaurant. The others weren’t. In the back, it made no difference. NEVER BE RUDE TO THE PEOPLE HANDLING YOUR FOOD. I can’t believe the shite I saw. I was literally the only person who refused to defile the food of rude customers. The other servers made fun of me for it. If you are an arse to your server, I hope you like having your steak wiped on the floor before it’s put on your plate.

Chinese cleaners use Calgon to soften the water. It’s an ancient Chinese secret.

Gas stations don’t get 89 octane gasoline deliveries.
They blend it onsite by their pumps being calibrated to deliver two parts 87 octane and one part 93 octane.

That's interesting. I have family high up in consulting that work pretty damn hard. Senior project manager, etc. I'm sure it varies greatly between firms.

Plastic soda bottles used to have a plastic gasket in the cap. They don’t anymore. This causes them to go bad much quicker than before.
Had totally forgotten about those. When did it stop?

Tough when you think you're going to drop some hot knowledge in a thread early but you're wrong and everyone just piles on from there.

We spend 50% more than the second most expensive country in the world (Switzerland), twice as much as the Canadians and the British, and the system is barely staying afloat?

Somebody is getting paid. Is it worker wages? Big pharma? Insurance companies? Equipment manufacturers? Government? All of the above?
Is it wasteful spending? Big bets that didn't materialize? Inefficient processes? Too much specialization?
What's the real industry secret?

I assure you "never ending projects" are not approved for all.
But it's like any other big companies, they can secure debt fairly easily with the banks because they're considered safe investments or they already have huge debts to them.

The majority of digital billboards from the #1 billboard company in the US steal your cell phone data every time you pass by one. They consider it geofencing, but they can capture your data when you drive by, so they can sell the info to their customers.
Example...
Academy Outdoors, during the hours of 5-7am, 350 plant workers pass by this billboard who have looked up a product you sell... would you like to purchase a repeating 10 second advertisement during those hours?

Pretty much mfer that has made a fortune in this country committed serious crimes to do it. Most did it by ripping off the government.
