My mother is currently being eaten up with cancer and has her marijuana card.

She bought something called Delta but it’s making her hallucinate.

What is the best kind for pure pain relief without getting high? Help sleeping would be a bonus.

I’m not an expert but ii would think a type of indica strain is what your looking for, especially if your looking to get her some sleep.

His mother is suffering and you provide what I'm sure in your mind passes for a witty quip. What the hell is wrong with you?

To the OP - I suggest following the guidance of her oncologist in pain management. Just know that you need to say everything you need to say to her before they start morphine treatment.

The oncologist doesn’t seem to know a lot about marijuana—moms in Mississippi and legalization is fairly new.

She prob only has weeks left but it’s so so hard watching her be miserable in pain.

Anything with "purp" or "OG" or "cookies" is probably good bet. Mostly indicas I believe.

eta: so sorry that this is makes you have learn about these things.

Not sure but my mom has stage 4 cancer and I’ve become fascinated with end of life psilocybin retreats.

Look it up, the results are crazy on their outlook on death and pain tolerance.

Look for indica-dominant strains but the high is kinda part of the bundle.

I understand completely. Honestly, the nurses I spoke with seemed to have the most practical experience in pain management for the cancer patients they cared for every day. A quick Google search of recent studies suggest CBD oil may work in reducing pain without the "high" but please express your concerns with the medical staff and advocate for your mom. Don't take "there's nothing we can do" as an answer. Keep asking questions until you're satisfied that your mom is getting the best care possible.

Typically, delta 8 comes from a hemp plant (low THC content), while delta 9 comes from a marijuana plant (high THC content). Delta 9 is much stronger than delta 8.

As for strains, Sativa has more of a psychoactive effect, while Indica has more of a calming effect.

What you really need to do is go to a dispensary and talk to someone there. There are so many hybrid strains that are meant for specific uses that you need to talk to an expert.

Why is that?

Seriously not a troll, just trying to figure this out quickly so she can get relief.

This. The people there will be much more capable of answering your question than the doctors will.

You seem like a troll sometimes. If not, I'm sorry to hear about you going through this. Delta-8 is a synthetic cannabinoid. It's not marijuana. If your mother has a medicinal marijuana card, she should get the real stuff. As others have said, indica strains typically are used to relax and promote sleep, etc., while sativa produces what people call a head or more active high. That being said, people react to things differently, so your mother should try different strains. Stay away from the Delta crap.
