So because you hunt you'd be able to save civilization or at least your family and neighborhood if the entire world fell to shite?

In this scenario, all of the wild game will be gone in just a few weeks. Totally gone except in possibly the remotest areas.

Fishing? Yes. Hunting… no. Within a month or two of a full collapse, there won’t be any game bigger than a squirrel left alive anywhere near areas of human habitation. Within six months, even the smallest game would likely become scarce.

Hunting would become relevant again in a generation or so, after the majority of the humans have died off.
