What is the French House being used for now?

It's a relic-- like 50's rock and roll. It has served it's purpose, but why is it still there-- it has become an eyesore. Raze it and erect a state-of-the-art arena that will be the pride of Louisiana and the Cajun/Tigers diaspora

Razed?

Sarcasm?

Recently renovated and one of the most beautiful buildings on campus.

That site will eliminate one of the best tailgate areas for football games.

I agree. Expand the paved parking in that entire area and leave multiple green spaces for tailgating.

No worries…lsu will throw some couches around a few pop up tents and let you rent the space and include a parking spot for minimal extra charge…

The PMAC should be turned into an entertainment space, like Texas Live in Dallas. A tailgate/viewing space for fans that don't go into football games.

That works when you can use it 90+ dates (MLB, NFL, XFL?)

Not as much when you're only using it 7, in a metropolitan area 10X smaller.

Yea that makes sense having an entertainment district by Alex Box would be better, especially if you put the arena right there. It could stay open year around. It would also create a good bit of jobs for Baton Rouge if they went that route.

Incorporate Alex Box into the development and you’ll have an influx of people in the area throughout the year.

And that doesn’t include the ~39k LSU students who’d utilize the restaurants, bars, etc. on a daily basis.

Winter
Men’s Basketball
Woman’s Basketball
Concerts + Non-LSU Events

Spring
Baseball

Summer

Fall

Well donate $200 million and lsu will build a sports only arena

I already offered and was turned down because I insisted that they find a way to put a cage for Mike behind the opponents bench. Also they did not think the Go To Hell Alabama Arena was a good name.

Yeah Alex Box definitely doesn't have any campus feel....

It doesn’t. Especially compared to across Nicholson. It’s basically out there by itself with parking lots and the softball field.

Time to tear down Tigerland and rebuild it. Put in a tram that runs from Tigerland past the new arena and Alex Box to the new student housing where the old alex box used to be turn up north stadium drive, climb the hill, and loop around Dalyrmple past the fraternity houses, W lakeshore drive past the sorority houses the UREC, Nicholson and Miller, and then loop back down to S Quad drive. Who cares how much it costs if it keeps drunk students from driving. I am sure that TD can raise the money. I am down for 75 million. Who is in?

Nothing gives me the LSU vibe of stately oaks and broad magnolias like walking down the railroad track or across industrial gravel parking lots.

You joke about the tram, but this highlights how bad of a decision it was by Broome to stop pursuing the funding for the Nicholson corridor "street car" / light rail project. The University and downtown were already fixtures, then you factor in the Water Campus, the changes to the River Center, and this development all being directly along the corridor?

I bet if they had built the street car then the new arena and entertainment district would be where the track field is now.

LSU is about to have the finest arena in the SEC, with an entertainment district and improved roadways. And some of you guys are worried about shite like football tailgating space and a slightly longer walk to campus.

This effing place, I swear.
