Yeah and this degenerate picked the Rays. Guess it will turn out as wrong as I was when I wished we would bring back Rosario. At least I sort of was granted a wish since we did
get Adam back.

Is Kelenic playing today? Hell, he might get the game winning hit to beat my arse

never mind. I just saw the Braves lost. Wonder if Kelenic struck out with the bases loaded in the 9th?

And now it’s official.

Starting the season how last season ended. Strider on the mound vs the Phils at CBP

Can't wait to see how this starts out. Has he done anything to get better. He will need to be better and more consistent. Do you think the league has caught up with him?

Adding a curveball that tunnels off of his fastball is a huge development.

Jesse Chavez is back! Braves signed him to a minor league deal with a camp invite today. Wonder if he makes the main roster?

I love Jesse, but I hope not.

ETA: fantastic player to have in Gwinnett in case someone gets injured, but I hope the bullpen is better than that.

You knew as soon as the White Sox released him he was going to be back here at some point. As sure as the sun rises in the east.

there's simply no room unless someone hits the IL. There's no one person currently in line for a bullpen spot that you can justify sending to AAA in place of Chavez, IMO.

Forgive me, fellas, but I haven't been keeping up with the squad every day this offseason like I have the last few. When is Opening Day for us, and what time do we play? TIA

You could easily Google this, BUT Opening Day for us and everyone else is Thursday. We play @ Philly @ 2:05 CST.

I saw that Braves released Penn Murfee as a result of adding Chavez.

Question - Why was releasing Murfee necessary? Couldn’t they just have put him on the 60 day IL list if we needed room on the 40 man roster?

I read somewhere that signing Duvall put the Braves very close to the 3rd luxury tax threshold. Releasing Murfee brings that number down a bit and gives AA some wiggle room to add during the season.

Makes sense for it to be monetary. Was only thinking about roster size.

Sounds like there will be very little room to add anybody during the year if we are that close.
