the 2008 Summer Olympics has to be up there.
China put on a spectacular show for the world. Of course they did a good job of ensuring that the world did not see the dirty laundry.
-Michael Phelps and his record
-Usain Bolt
-The US gymnastics team vs the Chinese team and the drama and questionable results
-MIsty Mae and Kerry Walsh
-Nastia Liukin
Just so many great stories and in my opinion the greatest Olympic Games of my lifetime

How old are you and what was the first Olympics you saw?
For me, none of the Olympics have the same greatness since the end of the Cold War. I’d vote for 1976 being the greatest.
Nadia Comaneci gets the first 10 in gymnastics. Sugar Ray Leonard, Michael Spinx and Leon Spinks all win gold in boxing. Edwin Moses gets gold in hurdles and Bruce Jenner gets gold in The Decathlon. Greg Luganis is robbed of gold (gets silver) in diving. The East German women had mustaches, massive necks and six pack abs. It had it all.

My personal favorite would LSU routing Clempson, but if you get to count more than one game/match and an entire event as a whole, this is a great answer...
I'm still not a big winter Olympics fan but this got me hooked on the summer Olympics. So many good story lines that year.

I'm still not a big winter Olympics fan but this got me hooked on the summer Olympics. So many good story lines that year.
