The IVF Ruling Puts Republicans in a Bad Spot Just Before the Election

I know several good, conservative, Christian families in Alabama who are using IVF because that is the only option they’re left with. They are having the same reaction you would if the government kept regulating your right to decide how you procreate. People put their family ahead of politics very quickly when backed into a corner.
The government has pretty much done all the regulating they can do when it comes to healthcare decisions on birth.
Every poll taken the past 10 years on the subject shows the vast majority of voters, conservative or liberal, believe some form of abortion should be legal, usually around 6-12 weeks.
This is currently where most state’s laws are, save for a handful of conservative states who seem to continue legislating that down, against the wishes of their constituents when they could be focusing on something meaningful.
Overall Republicans seem to be pulling ahead as we near November. There’s still just enough time left for them to squander the lead by focusing on these same old issues voters obviously don’t side with them on.

It's the result of idiots on the supreme court. They don't understand

AG already came out and said nobody will be prosecuted & they will do what needs to be done to make sure IVF continues so not sure why you and others keep melting down other than to stoke fear into people

An AG staying he won’t prosecute are just hollow words. After this ruling, the law is on the books.
What about the next AG?
What about the next AG?

Will be fixed before the election.

What law is on the books? It was a civil wrongful death case. Interpreting a statute from the 1800s. They botched it. Either they’ll fix it or the Legislature will.

I’ve never understood how a person can be anti abortion and pro-IVF. It’s the same damned result. Maybe preaux lifers will wake the fk up.

They can just go to another state and stay there for treatments.
Strange that right wingers are suddenly concerned about having their ability to make their own reproductive choices taken away.
This is what you voted for.

The ruling says if you frick up and kill someone's baby you can be sued.
Who can disagree with that.
Who can disagree with that.

Maybe if we jump on the assisted suicide train, we will get more support.

Not just sued, you are liable for punitive damages, which are not limited to the value of the loss and which are not covered by any insurance and can’t be eliminated by bankruptcy. It’s a financial death sentence.

How does this differ than any other medical negligence ?

No. It doesn’t.
