I brought a few king cakes once since my interview was on fat Tuesday. Got the job

Don't do this. We're not living in the 90's anymore, everything is digital. I don't need a resume, business cards or anything else printed.
Just show up with a list of questions for the interviewer and your research on the company already done.
Hard disagree, it shows someone game prepared.

What do you bring to an interview??
Walk in with your bat cave open.

Bring a spatula with you to show how eager you are to begin your career at Mickey D's.

Bring a folder with a resume, a pen & blank paper, and references.
Also a firm handshake.

A tuxedo T-shirt. It says, “I’m formal, but I like to party.”

That’s why you bring it but don’t bring it out or offer unless asked. Zero reason not to have it available.

Cornbread. Maybe pie. Ask first to see what the interviewer likes.

Perhaps this depends on what industry you are interviewing for. I can see your side if this is a more old-school company with a 50-60 year old doing the interview. They would likely appreciate or expect a printed resume.
My interviews are majority done on video calls so it is a moot point. But even if in person, I would have their resume pulled up on my screen and would throw away whatever got handed to me.

Brief case with some papers and some crackers inside. Maybe a couple of pens.

That would vary significantly based on the job I was interviewing for.
Bingo. I once worked in HR - did thousands of screening interviews. For the entry level positions, never had anyone bring anything to the interview, save themselves.
For professional positions, was mostly nothing but a few would bring a slim line briefcase or a messenger bag.
