So I’ve been reading around different websites and forums and stuff, and some people saying they can’t even call or text 911 emergency services or anything… so what happens if something happenes to someone during this long outage and 911 can’t be contacted which results in a death?

My AT&T service has been working most of the morning and then suddenly I’m on SOS.

"The issue appears to be related to how cellular services hand off calls from one network to the next, a process known as peering, according to an industry source."

AT&T says 3/4 of their network has been restored, per CNN.
quote:

By late morning, AT&T said most of its network was back online.

“Our network teams took immediate action and so far three-quarters of our network has been restored,” the company said. “We are working as quickly as possible to restore service to remaining customers.”

CNN article

I don’t really believe what AT&T is saying.

Hey, being gullible is better than being ignorant and senile

Learn some cybersecurity before talking about it, it will make you sound better next time.

My question is if it were an outage why is it only affecting some people and not everyone? We all have iPhones with eSIM in my household on ATT and half work while half doesn’t.

If you have an iphone some is working through the wifi.

I'm surprised they didn't schedule a fix for next Thursday between 1-3pm.

Nah, I'm surprised they aren't still on hold with the service department.

My iPhone is ATT and shows full bars with WiFi turned of so this isn’t correct.

You don't believe the folks working the code upgrade, or whatever maintenance was happening at 0300, didn't immediately react when they saw shite hitting the fan?

I've been in those shoes....believe me, all hell broke loose when those poor engineers realized shite went sideways.

I've been bouncing between having service and SOS all morning.

I’m the remaining 1/4th. I’m waiting patiently! I’m 40 so I remember somewhat what not having a cell phone was like; have to go back to 1998.
