Its funny because shortly after you started this thread you replied to on of my posts on the NFL rigged discussion on the more sports board.

The whole reason I signed up for Tigerdroppings was because they started a thread about my Dad and some posters were getting 50% of the facts wrong...thus JodyPlauche.

At first no one believed it was really me...and a poster who used to work with my Dad to guys initials who my Dad worked with in the 70's...I asked my Dad, he told me the name of the 2 guys and that's what convinced everyone I was really who I claimed to be.

Someone usually posts something once or twice a year. If you read the book and have any questions...feel free to email me.

Here is a picture of me, my brother, and brother-in-law this summer in Pass Christian before I went to see Smokey Robinson in Biloxi

It's a small world.

Pretty much everone I know, in my circle of friends, remember where we were the day we saw the news clip.

I'm always doing things and putting things into 40 year perspectives. Seemed like a long time ago .... doesn't seem like a long time ago anymore.

It probably seems like both to you ... a long time ago ... and yesterday.

As a child my grandfather tried telling me about living through WWI (40 years ago) and my uncles told me about fighting in WWII (forty years ago). Matter of fact we had an 82nd reunion in '82 in Houston and the 82nd vets were talking about their Sicily and Salerno campaigns (40 yrs ago) and then, in '84, I was on the Honor Guard and jumped into St Mere Eglese for the 40th Anniversary of the D-Day invasion. I thought, "those old guys are old." My 2nd oldest daughter was born a month later .... she'll be 40 in a few months.

Now, 40 years later for me, it seems like long ago ... yet it seems like yesterday.

As a teenage kid I loved Roman Gabriel ... now he's a good friend. But most kids under 50 have no clue who he is. I first met him in '98, 40 years after I was a huge fan. Later, he signed a rookie card of mine I had held onto for 40 years.

The past 40 years for you Jody ... I'm happy to read your book and learn about what you've experienced since ... yours must be an interesting and inspiring story. I'll read it.

I'm a grandfather now but, as stated earlier, when I saw the shooting trending on X, it had been decades since I thought of it. And, taking into account how society has changed and the shite we put up with when it comes to what our kids are exposed-to these days ..... I dunno. Your family's story is, in many ways, a milestone in this country's history ... and what has happened since then is an interesting slice to dissect.

Thank you for your response above. Much appreciated young man. God Bless you.
