Do you have a statute number for this? I’ve got someone who did this to my property. 10’ off the property line. Thanks!

In MS a feeder has to be 100 yards from the property line. The reason I know this my POS neighbor called green jeans on me because my feeder was 75 yards. They told me to move it to 100 yards.

I think you are a bitch if you buy that, but wont go talk with your neighbor. A little communication will go along way. You have 20 acre, so the chances of you shooting a deer and it crossing to his land is possible. Like other have said explain you see it as a safety concern with the stand placement as well.

Thanks for the info! Any idea if there is a distance requirement for placement of a deer stand next to adjoining property? Someone set up one on National Forest land about 15’ from my property line as well.

We walked our property line 2 years ago and found a pop up blind and feeder about 10 yards from our property line. It’s not on our property so I just stay away from his spot.

Not my property so not much I can do about it.

You'd really hate to be by me. On my 20 acres I have a feeder in a corner, 20 yards from 2 property lines.

You’re upset because he could be attracting deer to transverse your land to get to his feeder?

Be happy about the feeder. Talk to him about the stand.

If you catch him shooting across the line, it's an issue.

If not, set up a blind on your side to take advantage.

You could also set up your own feeder near his to double down on the attractant.
.

Honestly, there are lots of deer. Being good neighbors (say a kid mans the stand and shoots across) is most important.

Otherwise, you may find a lot more wardens called

Here in Alabama it’s illegal to build a blind/tree stand on National forest. If you use a portable climber or blind and leave it there, you can be ticketed for littering.

Basically, that blind they set up is just as much yours as theirs. But green jeans may be watching to see who comes back for it.

Glass half full: Let him buy and stock the corn, spend that extra time in the stand shooting everything on your side of the fence. Deer don't know the property line!

Try and talk to the neighbor. Tactful. You attract more flies with honey than vinegar. If they refuse or get agitated, bring in the game warden or sheriff. Most times things can get resolved with talking to them.
