I set out 7 dog proof traps last night with dog food.

Apparently dog food doesn’t work as well as cat food because I didn’t have anything in any of them.

Some nights are just better than others , we will run the same sets and get nothing for a few nights then catch 4 in one night???
I have caught them on just about anything including Cinnamon Toast Crunch
We seem to do best with dry cat food that has fish in it and topped with marshmallows

Trapped six hogs on Friday night. 4 boars, 2 sows. All over 100lbs. One boar bent the metal trap gate.

Amazing how many deer we are seeing in the two fields where these things roamed now that they are in heaven.

PS. Our camp cats apparently don’t like cat food anymore. They are fat as can be. Must be eating well somewhere.

we had no idea we had this many foxes, years past we would be lucky to catch 1 or 2, this year it is insane, and while I have ~125 acres, all 13 were caught on no more than 20, and got a new picture of one last night, unbelievable

Just dropped the trap again. Got five more hogs.

That’s 11 hogs in 3 days. We are hearing that others in our area are having the same success in the cost share program. They need to expand it and put the pedal to the metal!

States that aren’t doing this are lagging behind. MS is 50/50 cost share. Missouri is 75% sharing

#2 coil spring. You’ll see where they enter and exit the water. Set your trap just under the water. Run it on a drowning slide. Super easy to make. Google it. They’ll get caught and dive under. The one way side won’t let them come back up. Game over

we got fox #15 Sunday and nothing but 2 grinners since, wet weather does not look too productive for the next week, then only one more week of the season, but we will probably pull all the traps and let the woods rest for a week for the opening of turkey season , been a good one though

15 fox (14 grey, 1 red)
1 coyote
0 bobcat
45 coons

did not get around to making the water sets so no beaver or otters this year

Ive heard people arent seeing much coyote action yet. The past 3 nights Ive had more coyote and fox on camera than the last two weeks combined. Movement must be picking up.

Had a huge bobcat cross a camera last week. Planning on doing a couple of cat sets whenever I get the chance.

Use crossover trails or narrow channels like used on beavers with conibers. If find toilet area use flat set with leg holds with bobcat glad lure.
