I wonder if Tucker has watched the movie the Interview. You know, the one where James Franco goes to North Korea to interview Kim Jong and is fooled, at first, into thinking that North Korea is great? Yeah, maybe he should watch it.

Hasn't Russia sent most of it's prison populations into the war? It's easy to not have crime when most of that population is dead

Tucker and I are the same age. I have almost zero recollection of the problems of my childhood. I remember it being an idyllic time. I certainly knew nothing of interest rates, and I don't recall any gas shortages. But I also lived in a small town.
Children are not generally cognizant of those types of things.

Only Ukraine has resorted to press ganging civilians.
Russia mobilized a large number of reservists in the fall of 2022, but since then they’ve relied exclusively on volunteers. Wagner did use prison volunteers, people willing to serve in exchange for clemency, but that practiced has stopped.
I did see one report recently though where a government official who was convicted of corruption who was given the chance to fight in Ukraine. I don’t think this is common though.

If I go to Singapore and remark on how clean and safe it is compared to the United States, that doesn't mean I want to imitate it or necessarily do the things it takes for Singapore to achieve its type of society. It's just an observation.
It's also false that you HAVE to imitate them to achieve that.
There are MANY things that the United States could do to vastly improve the way of life for its citizen that does not include becoming a Russia or Singapore.
