I’ve seen the Whigs a handful of times and that was by far the most memorable. They inexplicably took hours to come on stage and Dulli completely left the stage for a long spell (“to take a phone call”), leaving the band hanging to perform an impromptu improvisation. But when Dulli returned, he and the band worked that angry audience energy into madness, so by the time they launched into “Bulletproof,” the crowd was like a singular manic organism feeling and moving together. Was incredible to experience in person. I think there’s a bootleg of the show floating around.

your recall is much better than mine... I remember the delay and having a good time before running out of steam... but not those other specifics...
