The solution is:
- no benefits if you have entered the country illegally. Ever.
- no birthright citizenship.
- no citizenship ever if you entered illegally. This should also mean never being able to vote.
- immediate deportation if caught in the country illegally.
- fines for businesses who employ illegals. Big fines.
Don’t even need a fence if you do these things.

That part I absolutely understand and that's one of many facets that makes this problem so enormously complicated.
So let's just take it from that point. Because you're the first person in this thread to actually broach this.
The Democrat power structure has no motivation at all to close the border. They want the votes and they'll get them. They make no attempt at all to hide this. In fact, they flaunt it. Their message is clear..We want you here. We want the border open, now vote for us.
Well the Republican power structure doesn't want that border closed either and I don't believe any lip service to the contrary. They want the cheap labor and they're getting it in droves but unfortunately, their message is this..We don't want you here, leave.. And then what does the Republican Party do? Well they quietly wave them in.
Now there you have a seriously complex problem and if there's a "simple solution" to that enormous and corrupt part of it, then by all means point it out.

The solution is is simple. Thats fact. There's just no will to apply actual solutions.
