Does anyone have this speedy pro in either version and what are your thoughts? I tried on the new sapphire sandwich and the movement in the rear case is extraordinary. The bracelet tapers nicely, is very light feeling, and it has a micro adjustment in the clasp. I’ve never had a manual wind, but it is intriguing. Thoughts
Yeah I know, use your phone

It's on my wish list. I lean toward the hesalite for authenticity's sake. The clear case back is nice but I figure I wouldn't look at the movement much after the novelty of it wears off.

I've got the hesalite Moonwatch. It's a beautiful watch. I alternate between the bracelet and a custom leather band.

This question would get you murdered on Omega boards because it gets asked so frequently

If you take out all of the nuance, it usually comes down to: is the “warmth” of the hesalite more important to you, or is the scratch resistance of the sapphire more important to you. If scratches will bother you, at all, go sapphire. If they won’t, at all, you’ll probably prefer hesalite.

This is a ubiquitous question on watch forums and so common it has been addressed here in the last year:

tOT

I didn't look but my bet was my advice was acrylic for a Speedy that will be in rotation and sapphire if it will be a daily wear watch. I do prefer the look of acrylic on a Speedy Pro and the ones I have owned in the past were all acrylic crystals. If you do buy a Hesalite version get to know a product called Polywatch.

Id go Hesalite for the same reason why if i bought a Jeep, id get a two door with a manual transmission . . Because while technology may have “improved”- i am a purist .

While the Hesalite is considered more “true” to the Speedy’s history, I went with the Sapphire Sandwich because the movement is gorgeous. Although I purchased it with the bracelet, I purchased a brown leather strap at the same time and had the AD put it on that.

In all honesty, I think I like it better than my Sub.

I have to the sapphire sandwich. I wish I had the micro adjustment clasp, that came out about a year after I got mine.

Of my watches, it’s the one I use as a “dress watch”, it was also my “engagement watch” from my wife and I wore at my wedding. It looks killer with a tux.
