I have a Cane Corso, so it’s probably a little different. First of all, screw Crate training. I have a Guard dog for a reason. What good is it, if he’s in a Crate? How is he going to deter someone from entering my property in a cage? I know people that make them sleep in the Crate. He’s in my bed, with the gf (no pics). I assure you, you don’t want to pop in and startle him, lol. I have him on a mix of raw/kibble. A lot of protein, bone and necessary fats. Training for smaller dogs is pretty easy with a food reward platform. Always be the leader. Dogs are generally very intuitive and will follow your direction as they grow. I got my Cane Corso professional training, because with a big dog that can react to triggers, you want to be able to control their behavior with a word. If you walk up to him, with your dogs on a leash and I give a command , he’ll sit alert in front of me. If I give that one word command, it’s go time. If you have a 9-5 job, away from the home, and you don’t feel comfortable with he/she outside, then a crate will control them. Regardless, they offer unconditional love and affection and you’ll be amazed at how many new friends you’ll make because of your dog. Good luck!

We buy WholeHearted (Petco brand?) dog food for our dog. She loves it.

Congrats on having E. Coli in your bed.

Would you walk around all day outside, at work, in your backyard with your shoes on and then keep your shoes on when you get in your bed and sleep. That is exactly what your dog is doing.
