Vehicles that have headlights in the bumper or turn signals in the rear bumper

What’s up with these new trends? A lot of new vehicles have skinny led lights on the hood and headlights in the bumper. Some have turn signals in the rear bumper instead of in the tail light. How hard will it be to change a bulb in a bumper?

Idk, but I just had to replace the LED bulbs in one light in my wife's vehicle and it was $550. Gone are the days of swinging by Pep Boys and grabbing a bulb for $10 and doing it yourself.

The L.E.D 1,000,000 candlelight laser beams on new cars should be outlawed before someone is seriously blinded!

Every morning on my way to work I get blinded a few times by these vehicles. And God help you if you erroneously think they have their brights on and flash yours at them, because then they flash their brights and give you an X-ray.

Then people put lifts or leveling kits on their trucks and aim their lights right into your windshield.

I have a lift in my truck but I also adjusted my lights down to pre lift height.

Sometimes people will flash me and I just let it go but when someone puts theirs on bright and leaves then then I put mine on bright and also turn on my 2 light bars in my bumper they dim theirs real quick and then so do I

Even though my truck is lifted 7.5” I still get blinded by some on the newer LED headlights.

I know why people put lights in their back bumpers I do t but I do have a lightbar between my bumper and tailgate

At an intersection by my house there is an incline on one side where a normal height car with correctly leveled headlights are raised just enough to be in your eyes. You’d think most people could figure out its not the person/car, but just the topography of the intersection.

Also, Teslas have the brightest lights. They always blind me and I am convinced the factory just throws the housing in and calls it a day.

Outside of infant mortality, the vast majority of LED lights will last the service life of the car. Car designers like LED strip lights because they open more design opportunities.

US laws dictate that brake lights cannot be on a movable part of the car. Some Audi SUVs have brake lights in the liftgate, and a second set on the bumper to function if the gate is open

As far as the headlights are concerned it’s the same thing, but I think most of what you’re seeing is design cues not necessarily getting around laws.

The Q5s definitely do. The larger ones, like the Q8, just have reflectors in the rear bumper

Also, have turn signals gotten smaller? I've noticed some very tiny turn signals lights lately.

$550 for a bulb? Or an entire light housing?

I have a pair on the rear of my truck that come on when I put it in reverse for more light. There is also a switch so I can turn them on (when truck is in park) to light up behind my truck for when I am locking a gate back.

In her car, it was one in the same apparently. Has a bunch of tiny LED bulbs in there I think, they just replace the whole thing when it goes out.

My truck came with a button from the factory to engage my rear lights.

It's either that or a jellyfish launcher, hard to tell by the picture

Aesthetic designs they think hide functional features. They have television commercials all about it.
