Im not getting my hopes up that this isnt all political pandering and TX will finally do something about the border. They've literally had decades to close the border down and havent. Including 4 terms of Texans in the white house.

Just the same, id love to see some other states send their NG to help out. There's a serious leadership void in this country and it seems like everybody is just waiting for somebody else to act.

I’ve lived in Texas for over 25 years and everything you’ve said is correct. It’s all political pandering. Illegal immigration has been a problem in Texas since the 1990s. Abbott has been Governor for 9 years and hasn’t done shat. Bush Jr. pushed for immigration reform and other elected officials in his party wanted nothing to do with it. I’ve come to the conclusion that Republicans will never do anything meaningful to stop the border crisis. Why would they? They’d lose something to beech about on Twitter and the news. They fundraise off the border issue. Can’t keep getting $$$ if it’s taken care of. This country is run by elected officials who care more about their own celebrity and pocketbook more than our country.
