Yes and no. Marriage rates have fallen overall but couples who met in college rather in high school tend to have higher marriage rates and lower divorce rates

Divorce rates basically follow education. The less educated get divorced more often
Overall divorce rates have been dropping over time

I had a girlfriend “back home” during college. It was far enough that her parents weren’t going to let her drive to visit me so I’d only see her at holidays basically. I was good with that. I got to date other girls and just figured she probably had a guy or two after her back home. There was no social media and texting wasn’t even a thing yet. You could only talk after 9 because it cost too much during the day. AOL was about the only way she could get a hold of me. It was perfect. We strung it out about 2 good years like that and I had a blast. By the end we were both ready for something else and ended happily. Stayed friends for years.
