Co Offensive Coordinators will be a mistake

I think it’s not as easy as they will make it appear. Also, these coaches get distracted from their position coach duties with this infrastructure. Players under Mallory and Pevato will tell you that.

Sloan is the playcaller. The duties are set.

I'm thinking Sloan will handle 90% of OC duties and this was a way to keep Hankton, as it was reported he was looking around.

Well... that's confusing.
Kelly is in charge of the offense. These guys keep him young.

Sloan is the OC in function. Hankton is an OC in title. In function he is still (largely) the WR coach.
The question is does LSU bring in a new dedicated QB coach now that Sloan has more broad responsibility?

Georgia been having Co-coordinators on defense for years. They are doing ok with it.

Please let the Georgia players who had co dcs for their NCs know.
Please let the Clemson players who had co ocs for ncs know.
And on.
And on.
And on.
Maybe.
Just maybe.
Mallory and peveto were just not good DCs.
Crazy I know.

They’ll bring in a TE coach who has OC experience.

Is this the only time in the history of CFB that a team had co-coordinators?

Nah, Sloan will do all the heavy lifting like Joe Brady did in 2019. Hankton is there to assist. He was already the PGC. I wouldn’t be surprised if the new title is used to give him a raise.

Because it didn't work one time 15 years ago with different people on the other side of the ball it can't work now.
Get the frick out of here with this bullshite.

That's why it took so long to announce the arrangement. BK didn't want to lose Sloan or Hankton. But he always knew Sloan was going to essentially be the OC (playcaller). So nothing was made certain while Hankton tested the OC market. I suspect what came back was he was not going to get a major conf. OC job (or at least one good enough to use as a stepping stone in his career), so he concluded being a "co-OC" at LSU was his best option.

dude the whol mallory pevato thing has made yall functional retards when it comes to Co- anything
sloan will call the plays from the booth
Hankton will be the eyes and ears on the sidelines
sloan will be responsible for game plan with input from cortez, kelly and prolly slade nagle as he will more than likely be TE coach.

Don’t most OC’s also coach a position? Denbrock did.

Perhaps. But Daniels gave Sloan a lot of credit for his massive jump from year 1 to 2. QB is the most important position on the team. TE isn't. If you are going to double-up on any position it has to be QB

Brady didn’t do the “heavy lifting”

You would be shocked at the amount of Co-coordinators in the playoffs for the last 5-6 years.
