This whole lawsuit is because the leadership (
) of Baton Rouge doesn't want to lose it's cash cow. The BR attorney said that St. George doesn't have money set aside for a police department. What's going to change when they incorporate? The sheriff still has jurisdiction there. They are simply incorporating a portion of the parish, they aren't creating 100k people out of nowhere and adding them to the parish, those people are already there and under the jurisdiction of the sheriff's office. Yea, we need less police forces, not more. There are too many tiny towns with a police force, when the sheriff should be handling it.
