St George being unincorporated means any tax money from there goes into the EBR parish general fund before being spent.
By law, 50% of the general fund is spent on BRPD and BRFD. BRPD only covers within the city limits of BR and BRFD has definite limits which don’t include all of BR.
Short version - the parish as a whole is paying a shite ton of money for shitty police protection in other parts of the parish.

And I thought unincorporated BR paid for BRFD bc that’s who has the EMS services?
Or is that extra money that is going to their funds?
