I'd say don't do it, but you'll do it no matter what.
Why does your kid have to attend?

You're contributing to the problem in by willingly sitting in on their dumbass programming. I'd go, wait for the first ridiculous idea they present and stand up and walk out. If you just don't go, you're never missed. If you show up and walk out on their bullshite you're making a statement to everyone else who hates it but begrudgingly sits through it.
Exactly and the people that set these up know that. A fat person will do anything for an extra cookie and if you keep holding that extra cookie out you can control everything they do.
Americans will lose and conservatives will lose.

Just remember to just say, “No.”
Don’t engage their arguments. Just say they’re wrong if you’re called out personally. Do not give an inch.
“You have had advantages based on your color.”
“No. I have not.”
“Surely you can agree that…. X,y or x.”
“No. I do not agree.”
Don’t engage any ideas. Just disagree. If they ask you personal questions just say, “That’s a personal question that isn’t relevant to our discussion.”
More likely, this is just a seminar that they’re going to tell you what they think and their values. You can walk in and check out.
But if they engage you personally, do not ever apologize and do not submit to their ideas. “No, thank you.”

You should dress up as a clown with face paint and everything. Maybe even a black clown

Attend, video tape, share with us...we need laughs.

I would ask A LOT of open-ended questions geared to making DEI look idiotic (you don’t have to try that hard) and burn up ALL the session time to that end. I guarantee you the instructor/indoctrinator is expecting the sheeple to quietly be fed horseshite. I don’t eat horseshite.

How old is the kid? I’d go and record the whole thing

When they begin the "diversity is our strength" mantra, ask why there aren't any kids who have severe cerebral palsy playing.

I don't know what you should expect.
However, as a parent myself, I would expect you to refuse to participate in this gaslighting indoctrination and damn sure not force your child into it just to be able to play a sport.
Next, I would expect you to contact lawyers and immediately file suit against whatever entities think they have a right to force you to go through DEI "training". Unless of course, caving in to tyranny is the example you want to set for your kids to follow in the future.
Just my opinion. Food for thought and no offense intended.

What should you do?
If you even have to ask that, then you’re helpless.
FIND ANOTHER TEAM, PROGRAM or introduce him to another sport to pass the time until you do find an option. If no sports are open to take his mind off of it, put him into martial arts, so he’ll be able to defend himself when the DEI Police come after him when he’s our age.
Me nor My kids will ever bow down to this movement. Same thing for the Jab, we will not condone nor participate in this.
If the good people do nothing, the bad will prevail….
This is reverse racism and discrimination, period!
Or if you allow him to be indoctrinated, just give him a summary:
“White man bad, white man root of all evil”

Staff meeting. I got asked "What day will you attend?" "Dates again?" "Sorry, I am in Oklahoma." "Another day given" "I am in Toronto." "Another day" "Portland."
Finally, "You have to attend." Told the General Manager "I suggest you talk to the President. President stopped by with a grin on his face "You don't have to attend anything. I reminded him of that fact." I shot back "Do you need an excuse?" "Not yet. I'll let you know."

Don’t go.
Or
Go and tell them to F off & screw their struggle session.

White people suck. If you are white you suck.

They kind of skipped this requirement when joining team last Summer
Hmmm, this means the people presenting the session may not like it. They could make it really quick just to say they complied.
True story: Back around 1980 Caddo Parish required one day of P.E. class to cover sex education in P.E. class. The coaches didn't want to.
One kid from Byrd HS told me what happened:
'Coach took roll and said....Men, we're gonna do sex ed now. Lesson No. 1, if you get a tall boy, put a ring on it. Sex ed is now over so get out on the basketball court.'

Why the heck does DEI have to do with soccer?
Are they selecting players based on race so they feel like they have to explain themselves to kids and parents?
Or are they letting trans kids in? They letting boys be on girls teams?
I would request the materials ahead of time. Publicize it and keep my kids away from these places.

So they were trying to push kids gay even back then.

No. A 'tall boy' is an erection when you see a pretty girl.

Ask if all kids will get equity of playing time?
