Paris Shand was listed at 6'5" 280lbs last year. Are there plans to move him inside

We don’t know exactly what front Blake wants to play just yet.

He would need to put on at least 20 pounds to play nose. More like 40

It appears to me that the current regime in both the ADs office and Football Operations will cut off access to any insiders who leak info before they want it out. Which I like, even if I really do want to know right now.

That and there's a chance Davis feels comfortable with what we have/ wants to give his group a spring to correct/develop. Especially if Shand moves inside. Remember Texas didn't have great DT recruits and Davis made them look solid.

I could definitely see Shand and Jones being moved to the inside. 280 is plenty big enough to play DT.

Also possible he and Jones are maxed out. 280 is not great for modern DTs. SDEs, some "edges" or WDE are that big. Passing downs its workable but in the run game most will get washed. Technique differences and future plans also factor in. Some kids are looking beyond LSU and adding weight to fit isn't in their plans.

I don’t think he’s 280

Looks way thinner than that on field

Rumors floating around about cam Jackson originally from Haynesville coming as a grad transfer once he’s done at UF in May

Was good at Memphis and was solid for UF last year. Would be an instant starter next to guillory

Do we really have any other choice? Bulk him up and teach him how to be disruptive.

I think we are switching to a 4-2-5 so a true 320-330lb NT won’t be necessary. If I’m not mistaken, they usually lean to more of a 290 - 300 lb guy that can move and stunt.

Interesting. Dang, Cam Jackson was 271 out on High School an is now 360lbs at Florida? Seems Shand could get to 295 this off season and do the job if he's willing to work at it.

Just give ole baw extra rice in his gumbo and canniac for dinner every night for the next 4 months. He’ll be big enough

I'm sure there will be a lot of shuffling and movement along the D Line this spring.

Depending on Baker’s scheme he’s either a 4-3 3 tech DT or a 3-4 DE with Savion Jones and Shand at DE with Guillory at nose tackle. Going to be interesting to see what he chooses.
