They gave up on a lot of boards and were boxed out because they let themselves disengage before they had to or should have.
This is a coaching issue. Instruct your players to not leak out on transition but find a body, box out, and crash as soon as a shot goes up.
It's not Hunter Dean's fault he cant grab a rebound when hes competing against multiple Aggies in the paint and he's the only Tiger actually crashing the glass.

I could see LSU going on a 0-10 stretch in SEC play with a loss today
This. I rewatched the first game between LSU and Texas A&M, and even though the Tigers won by 15, they weren't at all dominant-- in fact they scratched and clawed for every point they got that night. Same thing the next game vs last-place Vanderbilt.
The truth be told is that McMahon and the coaching staff have gotten everything they could have with the level of talent on this current LSU team. They have talent, all right, but not at a level to be a first-tier SEC team this year.

This is the same excuse that people use about DBs not looking for the ball. There are only a couple reasons why they don’t or can’t look.
1. They are not athletic enough and have to run as fast as they can and have “play the receiver” vs playing the ball every play.
2. They aren’t coached to look for the ball.
When you’re in Jr, you’re taught to play the ball. No coaching “adjustment or instruction” can change that. It is the same with rebounding and boxing out. They are taught that from a very young age. Them leaking is not on McMahon. I guarantee you they practiced and were reminded of it all week, yet they failed and got their asses whipped on the boards.

How many timeouts are there to coach your team up and instruct them / remind them to do it??
If you're coached in middle school to box out why can't D1 SEC players do it????
I promise it was a lack of adjustments made.
It's not that fricking hard

aTm gets called for a more balanced # of fouls, LSU could still take the game even with its other deficiencies
Yep. The refs completely took over this game. We win if these calls were even remotely even. Birmingham strikes again.

Well there is a minimum of 8 TV timeouts or so a game for whatever reason. Then there are the coaches TOs. They save them a bunch.
Now let’s talk about shot selection in the last 5 minutes of the game?

Fatigue? Giving up especially at the end of games? Losing concentration? These players fatigue level play is higher because their will compensates for their fatigue.

There was one foul near the end where they called a foul on us when the aggie was driving that was egregiously bad, it was not a foul and we actually got the board on that miss, so it was meaningful and maybe could have made a difference.
But we still had multiple chances and ran shitty offense the last 5 minutes. The game was winnable despite getting whipped on the boards we just only scored two points in the last 6 minutes.

I’m not convinced certain players were executing the play called. Both Cook and Wright took early 3’s, down the stretch. If they make them everyone is happy … if they miss them we get shitty offense.

Neither am I but that it was done 4 of the 5 last possessions that is not a good sign. In other words if they are not doing what they are supposed to that often in that critical of situations......
