You could try Ruston but you can't drive up to Squire Creek in your Uncle Eddy RV.
The Krewe of Pomona is a brand new 501(c)(3). We are not affiliated with any group or previous ball that Ruston has had in the past. Our Krewe will be solely responsible for creating floats, executing a parade, and hosting a ball for members. We plan on creating a family-friendly Mardi Gras atmosphere to make Ruston the premier location for Mardi Gras in North Louisiana.

Consider going down to Houma. Very family friendly.
Do you know the 2025 dates and is there a RV park close by?

Mardi Gras is March 4, 2025
Couldn’t tell you anything about parade routes or RV parks in Houma.

Does anyone know the dates of the parades (Centaur) in Shreveport in 2025?

It is on February 22, 2025. After this I would head down to the Lafayette area. We have always wanted to see the Acadiana Mardi Gras. I would need to find out which parades we will go to and what RV park would be centrally located. I would want only daytime parades.

I would also want something that is safe.
Go to Houma.

Shreveport has not been safe for a while.
Yeah, I was thinking on a per-capita/statistical basis, you might actually have a better chance of getting shot at a Shreveport parade than at one in New Orleans.

I would if I could find a decent RV park. All I have found are rundown looking mobile home parks.

Definitely do the Houma / Morgan City route. Houma has some really nice ones the weekend before and the weekend of Mardi Gras. Morgan City has a new krewe on Monday nite before Mardi gras that is really good.

Hideaway Ponds in Gibson is pretty decent. It's 30-40 mins away but Lake End Park in Morgan City is a nice campground.

The Houma Civic Center on Barrow St. rents RV spaces with hook ups in one of their parking lots. Also close to the parade route as the parades end at Town Hall further up Barrow St.

I will check into this. My other option is Cypress Lake which is 41 miles from Houma.
I also need to verify some parade dates. I plan on being in the Lafayette area for 5 nights and then spend 5 nights in the Houma area before heading back North.

Jesus, that is a depressing post. I couldn't imagine planning a trip a year away and then that destination being Shreveport. I just can't wrap my head around this.

You are forgetting the purpose of the Shreveport stop is to visit our nephew.

I checked into this and the only negative is I cannot reserve a spot. It is first come first served if they are allowing them for Mardi Gras. I would hate to drive there and then there are no spots. A huge plus would be that we could walk to the parades and bars (maybe) instead of driving.

My RV is probably worth more than the shack you live in with your parents.
