Do and don’t- resume protocols when changing career fields

Long story short… anticipating a career field shift from construction project management into a sales position completely unrelated to construction, but will definitely be worth the shift financially.
I have to prepare a resume but some of my work history (recent) is not applicable to what I’ll be moving towards.
Any advice or anyone experienced this sort of transition?

I would tailor your experience toward the new gig. Describe your accomplishments and how you developed new business relationships and drove profitability. Sales is about business sense, people and relationships. Focus on the areas from previous work that translate.
