Warehouse thermostat is set at 90 degrees. These dumbasses think it's going to blow hotter air if they set it higher. Rant over.....

It's been running nonstop since 7:30, and it's maintaining 65 degrees. 40 x 80 and insulated.

They do just the opposite in the Summer. Set it at 60 degrees and it won't get below 75.

People are dumb and obviously think that’s the temp of the air coming out of the vents.

My mother in law does this every summer when we have people over at our pool. Kids are running in and out of the house all day, and it's 100 degrees outside. It doesn't matter if I set the thermostat to 60 or 70, the AC is not going to keep up.

Wait, what about the people who think having a fan makes the air cooler.

I've had a saying for sometime now "if you are going to be DUMB you better be tough"

It makes your body cooler which I’m sure is what they mean

We normally set the heat on 64 at night.

If it's gonna be real cold my wife will say "it's gonna be colder tonight, should we put the heat on 68?"

At least there is some logic behind this since a fan will definitely help you feel cooler.

Nothing about making the thermostat higher or lower makes the heating/cooling process happen faster.

Wrong! My A/C and electric heat both have 2 stages. The second stages start when the difference between set point and room temperature exceeds 1.5 deg F. So cranking the set point engages both stages which increases the heating / cooling output.

Best thing I ever heard about was a secret thermostat in a closet that actually worked the HVAC whereas the one out in the open that the wife always controlled was fake and not hooked up at all.
I want to do this in my house.

well, if you have a variable speed blower, won't it blow harder if it thinks it has more work to do?
