What does that have to do with the subject at hand? Is Tesla going to replace them on the spot where they died like you can do with an ICE battery?
If your car battery dies, whether it be a Tesla or ICE vehicle, it's because you didn't take the proper precautions like putting it on a trickle charge overnight.
The EV hate around here is weird. If you don't want one then don't buy one. But you'll be driving one someday. We all will.

"We have made several updates to improve your driving experience in freezing temperatures, including better overall thermal performance, quicker Supercharging, and improved cabin conditioning," the company said.
When it comes down to my safety potentially my security, I’ll stick with the known.

I don't hate EV's at all, the wife and I have discussed buying one as a secondary car for running around locally. We would keep the big ICE SUV for road trips and my truck for hauling and towing.
I think the forced transition we're seeing is misguided and will fail for all the reasons we're seeing play out before us in real time. The government needs to let the market handle this, if EV's represent a better alternative to ICE powered vehicles, people will buy them.
The hate you see directly stems from the fact that the government is trying to force them on us.

I'm no battery expert, but I do believe charging and/or discharging them in extreme cold is bad for them.

Well I agree 100% with all or this. I don't like government forcing it either. That really doesn't have much to do with Tesla though.

This is called ignorant owners. Some people are too stupid to understand how electric machines work.
They may be ignorant but should they really not be upset their new car doesn't perform in conditions that don't phase a gas powered car?

I've never hooked my truck to a trickle charger overnight.
What planet is this guy from?

In extreme cold environments most cars come with a cord that comes out of the grill to plug into a trickle charger. Most businesses have them available for their employees. It's quite common.

For some reason places like Norway and Denmark, which have the highest EV market penetration per capita, seem to not have any problems at all. It also seemed to only happen in one area while most of the country experienced this winter blast. It also wasn't an issue when people were trapped on the freeway in Atlanta that time and EVs kept people warm. Ya'll need to worry about what is going on in your welfare state well before freaking out about EVs

Those are block warmers. They don't charge the battery. They warm the block so that car will start.

That's a block heater moron.
Rarely if ever used since fuel injection was introduced.

Is that a trickle charger or an oil warmer?

Oh. Well forget what I said then.

"The media didn't tell me so I don't believe it."
A quick google search brings up EV buses failing spectacularly in Scandinavia.

All 300+ buses broke down? We both know the answer to that but their type of cold does limit them on their longer lines. Batteries do not maintain as much charge in cold weather. Funny thing, cold has finished off many an ICE battery for years now but they weren't a political issue then

My BMS in my lithiums in my boat shut down making the batteries inoperable during freezing temps. Wonder is theirs do the same?

Yeah since it is a 15 minute process to replace that battery and if you get a jump then you can use that shite battery long enough to get to an automotive store.
